Bellbird Preschool's Philosophy

Bellbird Preschool acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of this land, we promise to look after the Wonnarua land on which the preschool stands and strengthen children’s cultural knowledge and appreciation for future generations.

We believe in providing a curriculum that embraces inclusiveness and diversity, as this enhances children’s respect for one another’s differences.

Our educators are dedicated in providing a nurturing and caring environment for children and families to feel supported and comfortable from day one. We endeavour to build strong, collaborative and trusting relationships with families, we respect the family as the child’s first teacher.

We provide a play-based learning environment that inspires wonder and creativity for school readiness and lifelong learning.

We believe in the importance of forming strong partnerships with members from the local community.

Importance is placed on enhancing children’s autonomy & independence by encouraging them to make their own choices, develop self-help skills and take appropriate risks.

Our flexible curriculum allows time and freedom for children to have fun, create their own learning and incorporate their voices and ideas. We recognise that all children are unique, learn in different ways and have their own beliefs.

We strive to protect the future of our natural environment, encouraging this learning through incorporating sustainability into everyday practices.

Our educators are committed to continuous improvement and ongoing learning to keep the inspiration alive.

Children should have opportunities to be immersed in nature; exploring messy play in the mud, sand, water, climbing trees and gardening. Interactions with flora and fauna promote learning opportunities.

We believe in the importance of promoting positive wellbeing and respect for all members of our preschool community.
